Our story
Rooted in Community, Guided by Purpose
For over a decade, the Norlandewe Charitable Fund has worked alongside local nonprofits to strengthen the fabric of our communities.
How We Began
The Norlandewe Charitable Fund was established in 2012 by a group of community leaders who believed that meaningful philanthropy starts close to home. Frustrated by the gap between large institutional funders and the grassroots organizations doing the most essential work, they created a fund dedicated to responsive, relationship-based grantmaking.
Over the past twelve years, we have grown from a small circle of local donors into a recognized regional fund — but our core commitment has never changed. We listen first, fund thoughtfully, and stand behind the organizations we support for the long term.
What guides us
Our Values
Transparency
We publish our grantmaking criteria, decisions, and financial reports openly. Accountability to our communities is non-negotiable.
Proximity
We believe those closest to a problem are best positioned to solve it. We fund organizations led by and for the communities they serve.
Long-term Thinking
Lasting change takes time. We prioritize multi-year relationships over one-time grants wherever possible.
Humility
We are partners, not directors. We follow the lead of the organizations we fund and resist the urge to impose our own solutions.
